NHTSA Complaint #11663051 — 2019 FORD F-250

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road where the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was not able to be restarted. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel pump had exploded, sending metal fragments throughout the system. The contact was informed that the fuel system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was in the process of being repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 104,000.
