NHTSA Complaint #11645535 — 2019 FORD F-250

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power, prompting the contact to coast over to the shoulder. The vehicle failed to restart. That contact stated an unknown message was displayed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed that metal shavings were circulating throughout the fuel system. The dealer informed the contact that the fuel system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided with the Manufacturer Recall Number: 24S78 – NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V957000 (Fuel System, Diesel). The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHSTA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
