The contact owns a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving on the highway at 55 MPH, the vehicle lost automotive power and the steering wheel became stiff. The contact stated that the vehicle decelerated to 20 MPH, with several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 101,000.
