The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. The contact stated while driving at approximately 65 MPH, there was an abnormal sound coming from the driver's side front tire. The contact was able to exit the highway and drove to a tire store and had the tire replaced. The contact stated that after the tire was replaced while leaving the store parking lot, the check engine and power steering assist warning lights illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to the residence but turning the steering wheel was extremely difficult, requiring extra effort to turn the steering wheel. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure.
