The contact stated that extra effort was needed to turn the steering wheel to the right before stopping on the highway offramp. The contact stated that the "power steering" and "advance track service" warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the following day she drove the vehicle to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the steering gear assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure had occurred twice in the past, requiring the steering gear assembly to be replaced. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 199,000.
