NHTSA Complaint #11613758 — 2021 FORD BRONCO SPORT

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that while attempting to open the rear windshield, the lever on the windshield detached from the vehicle. Due to the failure, the contact was unable to close the rear windshield and had to use a bungee cord to secure the windshield. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was informed that the liftgate windshield assembly needed to be replaced. The contact was also informed that the vehicle was no longer covered under warranty. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.
