NHTSA Complaint #11613639 — 2021 FORD ECOSPORT

I started having issues with my 2021 Ford Ecosport the last week of December 2023. My engine completely stalled out [XXX]. I discovered that there was a recall (23s64) on my vehicle and immediately took my car into Elk Grove Ford for recall repairs 1/2/24. I was told that I was too early for the recall and would have to wait between April and August of 2024 for repairs. Ford would not cover the cost of my first few months in a rental due to the "recall being too early" even though my car has been undrivable due to the recall. Now here we are in September, and I am now being told I have to wait for repairs "the first quarter of 2025" meaning Elk Grove Ford would have had my car for over 1 year. This is ridiculous. I have a car note and insurance that I am still responsible for even though I do not have possession of my car, and it is undrivable. I am being told that Ford cannot do anything besides wait for parts which is insane. I was told by service provider Mike at Elk Grove Ford that they have over 20 cars just at their location for the same recall and they are just holding everyone's vehicles until next year!
