NHTSA Complaint #11607938 — 2018 FORD EDGE

The contact owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was misfire coming from the engine with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that excessive amounts of white smoke was coming from the exhaust pipes. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of coolant. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The contact stated that the failure began about a year ago; however, the failure had become persistent. The vehicle was scheduled to be towed to the dealer within the next few days. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was advised to report the failure to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.
