NHTSA Complaint #11606603 — 2018 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, there was an abnormal sound coming from under the hood. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the cam phasers had failed. The cam phasers were replaced under warranty. The contact stated the vehicle was taken to the local dealer on several occasions for cam phaser replacement and the vehicle was left at the dealer during the repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
