NHTSA Complaint #11586628 — 2015 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 25 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact was able to make a right turn and pulled to the side of the road. The contact allowed the vehicle to cool down for 30 minutes, and then the vehicle was restarted. The vehicle was towed to the residence, where the contact replaced the thermostat and the coolant himself. The contact stated that the vehicle operated as needed after the repair. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 175,000.
