NHTSA Complaint #11583875 — 2018 HYUNDAI SONATA

The contact owns a 2018 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The contact stated that after several attempts, the vehicle eventually started. The failure had been persistent since December 2022. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The contact was requested to pay a diagnostic fee. The contact declined to pay the diagnostic fee because the vehicle was under warranty at the time. The contact purchased a new battery, and the battery was replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. In addition, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was unknown.
