NHTSA Complaint #11581083 — 2015 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at approximately 25 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that oil was leaking from the turbocharger. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to a local dealer for repair. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the cylinder head, exhaust manifolds, and vacuum pump gasket needed to be replaced. The local dealer informed the contact that the turbocharger would eventually need to be replaced also. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
