NHTSA Complaint #11581070 — 2015 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that oil was leaking from the vehicle near the oil pan. After inspecting the vehicle, the contact became aware that oil was leaking out of the oil pan, onto parts that were extremely hot causing a burning odor. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the oil pan was leaking, and the oil pan was warped. The contact learned about the failure related to Service Bulletin: 232083, NHTSA ID Number: 10233594 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 140,000.
