The contact stated that while driving at approximately 40 MPH, the driver’s right knee struck the ignition key causing the key to break off inside the ignition switch. The contact was unable to turn the vehicle off. The battery was disconnected. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The local dealer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 110,000.
