Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2018 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving 25-30 MPH, a message indicating that the transmission was overheating and needed to rest for 5 minutes was displayed. The contact veered to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the transmission clutch had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V845000 (Power Train). The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not available.
