The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact heard an abnormal sound. The contact stated that while the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle failed to function as intended. Additionally, the check engine and engine oil pressure warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed engine oil pump. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 63,000.
