NHTSA Complaint #11552986 — 2016 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN

The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, there was an abnormal clanking sound coming from the vehicle while depressing accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the issue might be related to the transmission pump. The mechanic linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V461000 (Power Train). The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the possession of the independent mechanic. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.
