Consumer Description
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving 5 MPH, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate, causing the vehicle to jump. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the failure was due to a faulty transmission control module (TCM). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to call the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
