NHTSA Complaint #11542776 — 2019 CHEVROLET VOLT

I purchased this vehicle from East Bay BMW in Pleasanton, CA on April 8, 2023. On August 28, 2023, to September 4, 2023, I began to receive messages on the dashboard stating shift to park. The shift lever was in park but was not registering this. I had to wiggle the shift lever to get the message to go away and be able to turn my vehicle off. On September 5, 2023, I had the same issue but this time no matter what I did the message would not go away and I was not able to turn my car off for 10 minutes. On September 5, 2023, I called the dealership and spoke with [XXX] -the Service Advisor who told me he would need to speak with his colleagues and get back to me. As of today September 5, 2023. I have no solution to this problem and cannot drive this vehicle for fear I won't be able to have it recognized when it is in park.
