NHTSA Complaint #11540378 — 2015 FORD EDGE

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the engine power was reduced, and the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed. The engine power reduced, and lower engine temperature messages were displayed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed by the dealer and confirmed that coolant had leaked into the cylinder. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000. The contact is asking, if we choose to get a loan to replace our engine for approximately $6600, would we be reimbursed if there is a recall?
