NHTSA Complaint #11534823 — 2018 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated while the vehicle was idling at a red light, the vehicle stalled and needed to be restarted. The failure persisted and whenever the vehicle was idling or the vehicle was coming to a stop, the vehicle would lose motive power and stall. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who completed a software update under an unknown TSB; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to another dealer who performed another software update. The dealer also stated that cam phasers and sensors needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.
