NHTSA Complaint #11532916 — 2015 FORD EDGE

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving at highway speeds, the engine temperature gauge indicated that the engine was overheating with the check engine warning light illuminated. After adding coolant there was white smoke coming from the exhaust tips. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the coolant had leaked into cylinder #1. The contact was informed that the engine long block needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 114,000.
