Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that after being parked at a rest station for an undisclosed period, his wife attempted to start the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to start. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the residence and later towed to the dealer, who determined that the engine had seized. The dealer related the failure to Manufacturer Service Campaign: 953 (Engine) however, the vehicle was no longer under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 136,000.
