Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2020 Ford Escape. The contact stated while attempting to shift into drive, the gear selector failed to shift out of park. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the shifter cable was replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The dealer was contacted and stated that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was filed. The contact was informed that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed. The failure mileage was 44,447.
