NHTSA Complaint #11519795 — 2018 FORD EDGE

The contact owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer on three separate occasions; however, the dealer could not determine the cause of the failure. The failure persisted and the contact stated that the vehicle failed to start up after refueling. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred her to another dealer; the Hammonasset Ford (191 Boston Post Rd, Madison, CT 06443) where the mechanic determined that coolant had leaked into multiple engine cylinders, leading to engine failure. The vehicle remained in dealer possession and was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
