NHTSA Complaint #11495090 — 2015 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the low oil level warning light appeared on the instrument panel. The warning light disappeared; however, an abnormal, rattling noise was coming from the vehicle at start-up. The contact believed that the failure was linked to a defective camshaft phaser. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and informed the contact that there were no recalls on the VIN. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
