Consumer Description
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the engine coolant temperature and the check engine warning lights illuminated intermittently. The contact stated that the failure had become frequent. After using a personal diagnostic reader, he retrieved two failure codes for the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor circuit. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the knock sensor wiring harness, coolant sensors, and fuel seals needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that there was no recall under VIN and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 72,000.
