NHTSA Complaint #11489745 — 2015 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that upon shifting from park(P) to drive(D) and depressing the accelerator pedal, the transmission remained in first gear. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the transmission was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The independent mechanic replaced the transmission for a second time; however, the failure reoccurred. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V461000 (Power Train) due to the vehicle manufacture date. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 178,000.
