NHTSA Complaint #11473601 — 2019 FORD ESCAPE

The contact called on behalf of her son who owns a 2019 Ford Escape. The contact stated while her son attempted to shift into drive, the gear was in park; however, the vehicle inadvertently accelerated into the wall. The contact also stated there was an unknown clicking sound, and the gears were shifting inadvertently consistently. There was an unknown sensor warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer which diagnosed an unknown failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number 22V413000 (Power Train). The approximate failure mileage was unknown.
