Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated while her husband was driving approximately 55 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle failed to respond with a whooshing sound coming from the transmission. The contact stated that the check transmission warning light was illuminated. The contact's husband drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the transmission had suffered multiple failures and determined that all transmission sensors, solenoids, and other parts needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
