NHTSA Complaint #11464509 — 2009 FORD FUSION

The contact owns a 2009 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the vehicle in front stopped abruptly. The contact depressed the brake pedal however, the vehicle failed to respond and stop in a reasonable time. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The contact steered the vehicle towards the ditch to avoid collision and pumped the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact called the local dealer and was informed that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the dealer did not have the equipment to service the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000.
