Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated while driving 70 mph, he heard an abnormal knocking sound then the vehicle stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the engine was replaced in 2017 after the engine seized. The dealer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the vehicle was over the 10,000 miles or 1-year warranty coverage for the engine replacement. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
