Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD GRINDING SOUND. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND SHUT-OFF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED A SECOND TIME AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART. NO WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH METAL SHAVINGS INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. A LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.
