Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THERE WAS SMOKE AND FIRE DETECTED FROM UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. THE CHECK ENGINE AND ABS WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE OIL WARNING INDICATOR LIGHT WAS FLASHING. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THERE WERE NO REPORTED INJURIES. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
