Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD FREESTAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AND ACCELERATING, A KNOCKING NOISE OCCURRED COMING FROM THE FLEX PLATE AND TORQUE CONVERTER. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PARK FORD (400 WEST AVE, TALLMADGE, OH 44278), AND WAS DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND FLEX PLATE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 128,310.
