Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 JEEP COMPASS. CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO EXCEED 35 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO COMMONWEALTH DODGE RAM (6408 PRESTON HWY, LOUISVILLE, KY 40219 (502)785-8360), TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR PROVIDE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED BUT FAILED TO FIX THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 17,468. *BF*JB
