Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR SUDDENLY ILLUMINATED FOLLOWED BY A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE AND STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND HYUNDAI ASHEVILLE (860 TUNNEL RD, ASHEVILLE, NC) WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
