Consumer Description

ENGINE HAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000 MILES AND BURNS BETWEEN HALF TO ONE QUART OF OIL EVERY 1,000 MILES. HYUNDAI DEALER PERFORMED AN "OIL CONSUMPTION TEST" WHERE THEY RECORDED OIL LEVEL AFTER 1,000 MILES THREE TIMES. AFTER THE FIRST 1K MILES IT WAS DOWN ABOUT HALF A QUART OF OIL, SAME ON SECOND 1K MILES, AND ABOUT 1 QUART ON THIRD 1K MILES. HYUNDAI ADVISED THIS IS NORMAL OIL CONSUMPTION AND WOULD NOT INVESTIGATE FURTHER UNLESS AVERAGE USE WAS MORE THAN 1 QUART AFTER 1K MILES. THE SUGGESTED OIL CHANGE INTERVAL FROM HYUNDAI IS 7,500 MILES. AT THE RATE OF OIL CONSUMPTION THE VEHICLE WOULD BE OUT OF OIL BEFORE THE RECOMMENDED SERVICE INTERVAL FOR OIL CHANGES.
