Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED ITSELF AND WOULD NOT EXCEED 20 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND LATER TOWED TO JOHNSON HYUNDAI OF CARY (919-439-2059, LOCATED AT 5000 OLD RALEIGH RD, CARY, NC 27511) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A KNOCKING SOUND IN THE ENGINE AND THE ENGINE MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ORDERED THE DEALER TO PERFORM MORE DIAGNOSTIC TESTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.
