Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD F-350. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE ELECTRIC TAILGATE SLOWLY OPENED ON ITS OWN WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT, OBJECTS IN THE CARGO BED SPILLED ONTO THE HIGHWAY. THE SAME FAILURE OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KEN GARFF AMERICAN FORK FORD (597 E 1000 S, AMERICAN FORK, UTAH 84003) SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY REPLACED THE WIRE HARNESS AND THE LATCHES. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000. *TT
