Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN MAXIMA. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD, THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND HEARD A POP SOUND COMING FROM THE WHEELS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE EXPLODED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WIRES WERE EXPOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE STRUT ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,000.
