Consumer Description

PERFORMED OIL CHANGES AT TWO DIFFERENT AUTO REPAIR FACILITIES WITHIN 4 DAY SPAN. THE REASON FOR THIS IS EACH SERVICE SHOWED OVERFILL ON OIL DIPSTICK. SHOWED THE SERVICE ADVISERS AT BOTH FACILITIES. I TOOK VEHICLE TO HYUNDAI DEALER AND PURCHASED A REPLACEMENT OIL LEVEL INDICATOR AS PER VIN. THEY SAY I HAD WRONG DIPSTICK FOR ENGINE. PLACED REPLACEMENT DIPSTICK IN ENGINE AND SHOWED HYUNDAI SERVICE REP THAT OIL LEVEL STILL SHOWED OVERFILL. I HAD THEM CHANGE OIL AND THEY SHOWED ME THAT REPLACEMENT DIPSTICK REGISTERED CORRECT OIL LEVEL. SO, EITHER THIS ENGINE IS OPERATING ( 38000 MILES) AT UNDER FILL, OVERFILL OR PROPER FILL LEVEL. BEEN USING MANUFACTURERS OIL VISCOSITY RECOMMENDATION (5W-20 AND DEALER USED 5W-30 SYN/BLD).
