Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD FREESTAR. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH DOWN A STEEP DECLINE, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO OPERATE. THE CONTACT LOST SLIGHT STEERING CONTROL ON THE MOUNTAINOUS ROAD. AFTER REGAINING CONTROL, THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. ADDITIONALLY, WITHIN THE PAST EIGHT YEARS, THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
