Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO MAKE AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND THE BATTERY LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND SMOKE BILLOWED FROM UNDER THE HOOD. IN ADDITION, THE ELECTRICAL FUNCTIONS FAILED. THE CONTACT WAS AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000.
