NHTSA Complaint #11600921 — 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE

The contact owns a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact was able to get the vehicle to the shoulder of the roadway. The contact attempted to start the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to start. The contact called for Roadside assistance; however, the tow truck driver was unable to jumpstart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with alternator failure. The contact was advised to have the vehicle towed to the dealer for assistance. The vehicle was scheduled to be towed to the dealer. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.
