Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO UTILIZE THE LIFTGATE, IT FAILED TO OPERATE USING THE REMOTE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND THE LIFTGATE HAD TO BE USED MANUALLY. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V393000 (STRUCTURE) AND 15V509000 (VISIBILITY); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIRS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000.
