NHTSA Complaint #11697907 — 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The service transmission and check engine warning lights were illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost automotive power but was able to be restarted. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the hydraulic pressure sensor needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the hydraulic pressure sensor was replaced by an independent mechanic; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
