Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 DODGE RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND THE REAR WHEELS SEIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE PINION NUT FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE PINION NUT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE REPAIR PARTS BEING UNAVAILABLE. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V796000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 165,000.
