Occurring 7/10/2025 WATER LEAK CONCERN:: mildew smell coming from the vehicle, trunk is wet and smelling mildew. have gaps on the rear sunroof glass seal. recommend replacing rear sunroof glass seal, replaced all the drain hoses, remove all the carpets and dry them—water incursion may have affected electrical systems responsible for safety and driving. In Volvo's Service and Parts Business Technical Journal Title: Panoramic sunroof, sealing strip has a gap Ref No: TJ 35503.3.0 the description states: "If the customer complain about that the sealing strip in rear end of panoramic sunroof is too short, or if the short sealing strips cause water leaks into the care, please follow advice under Service. Replace the sealing strips and glue it in each end in according to the method in VIDA." Volvo has been aware of the poor panoramic sunroof design which can result in water incursion into the cabin of the vehicle. At no point has Volvo informed the customer or direct service departments to be proactive in addressing the sealing gaps. There is no mention of any maintenance or concerns in the car manual.
#11625667 | POWER TRAIN | | N/A miles
Front left axle shaft failed at 18,000 miles, producing noticeable noise and vibration when accelerating and turning to the right. The car has never been in an accident, nor has there ever been an incident (e.g., striking a curb) or other abuse that could have caused this failure. Fortunately I brought it into my local Volvo repair shop before further damage to the transmission and other connected parts. Test drive by the repair shop confirmed the vibration at various speeds and maneuvers. Cost to replace the axle was $1,056.75. I contacted the nearby dealer after diagnosis and before the repair. They said there was nothing they could do as the vehicle is out of warranty. I am in contact with Volvo corporate headquarters, who is saying the same thing. This is a defective product, not warranty, claim. It seems likely that this defect is not isolated to my vehicle.
#11583670 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | | N/A miles
Driver’s side side view mirror moves to a different location each time car is entered/started. Saving pre-set location of mirror does not hold. Even after a repositioning and saving, or repositioning without saving, the mirror on left side is horizontally in a different spot. This is a safety issue as one usually expects mirrors to be where they were left previously using the mirror controls. Car has been into dealer multiple times for a fix which included both software and hardware attempts. Appears to be known problem based on on-line review. Mirror should stay in a fixed position unless driver wants to relocate. If not risk of visibility issue is large.
#11427414 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | | N/A miles
