Recall 17V647000 — ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE

| 26,182 vehicles affected

Defect: Polaris Industries, Inc. (Polaris) is recalling certain 2010-2017 Victory Cross Country, Cross Country Tour, Cross Roads, Magnum, and Hard Ball motorcycles. If the engine misfires, continued riding may result in heat from the catalytic converter melting the rear brake line and nearby wiring.

Consequence: A melted rear brake line can reduce braking performance, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Polaris will notify owners, and dealers will re-route the brake line away from the exhaust catalyst, free of charge. The recall began on November 8, 2017. Owners may contact Polaris customer service at 1-877-737-7172. Polaris' number for this recall is...

Recall 12V457000 — EQUIPMENT

| 6,618 vehicles affected

Defect: Polaris is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Victory motorcycles manufactured from January 3, 2012, through August 15, 2012. A torqueing procedure may have been missed on some throttle cable retention nuts. On certain motorcycles, the throttle cable retention nuts for either the pull or push throttle cable may have not been torqued correctly.

Consequence: If the torqueing is missed and the retention nuts are loose, the retention nuts closest to the throttle body can become dislodged and interfere with the throttle function, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Victory will notify owners and dealers will correctly torque the fasteners free of charge. The safety recall began on October 4, 2012. Owners may contact Victory consumer service department by calling 1-888-704-5290.

I pulled onto a main road through a busy intersection and shifted through the gears under normal load. Upon shifting from 4th into 5th gear one of the C clips failed causing devastating damage to the transmission gears. The bike jerked and locked up for a moment but I was able to keep it under control and slow down to a stop. There was no warning or symptoms up to this point. My safety and the safety of others were put at risk with this failure. I was fortunate enough to keep control of the bike to slow down. You can tell it is a c clip issue because after the failure, tilting the bike to the right results in a clacking sound of the gears smacking each other. I am a part of a large Victory online community and there are so many people having the same issue. Total engines are being grenaded due to Polaris’ use of a poor quality clip to hold the gears in place. Being that motor and transmission are one unit, it requires an entire engine tear down to split the engine case and access the damaged gears. These gears then have to be replaced and the failed clip upgraded to a better quality clip. Polaris needs to issue a recall on these c clips for the safety of everybody!

I HAVE NOTICED THE LATCHING MECHANISM ON THE SADDLEBAG IS WEARING PREMATURELY. THE RIGHT SIDE BAG HAS MORE NOTICEABLE WEAR THAN THE LEFT SADDLEBAG. IT APPEARS THAT THE SOFT METAL IS BEING WORN FROM THE LATCH STRIKER HOOP. AT THE CURRENT WEAR RATE IT MAY ONLY LAST ANOTHER YEAR BEFORE THE SADDLEBAG MAY OPEN DURING VEHICLE OPERATION CAUSING UNDETERMINED REACTION FROM THE DRIVER OR VEHICLE FOLLOWING IN AN ATTEMPT TO AVOID THE BAG CONTENTS. *TR
